EMIXAR II Berlin, on behalf of the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, invites you to visit the exhibition "Transformative Senses" during
Berlin Art Week. Observe the transformation of your perception with all your senses.
Together with over 10 Berlin-based artists, we challenge ourselves to carry art into new spheres. Step into a multisensory experience enhanced with Extended Reality (XR), light, and interactive installations, combined with artworks — completely unlike a traditional exhibition visit.

Admission is free during Berlin Art Week!

Please make sure to book a free time slot through our reservation system. We have approximately 200 available spots per day.

As part of the EMIXAR CONTINUUM II exhibition during Berlin Art Week 2025, internationally renowned artist Jonathan Meese presents a specially developed immersive spatial installation titled „K.U.N.S.T.“ IST „L.I.E.B.E.!!!!!!!!" (Art is Love). The work is both a radical and playful manifestation of a new artistic self-conception that Meese has formulated and contributed specifically for the EMIXAR exhibition.

XR Application

XR Experience – Jonathan Meese places a bed in the exhibition. Visitors are invited to lie down, and in doing so, they are prompted to shout the manifesto “Art is Love.” This opens a door to another reality — the ceiling of the room disappears, the space dissolves, and Meese's manifesto on art — the highest form of love — is activated in the form of 13 digital, floating cards.

"Motheroid" XR/RR - Installation

XR/RR Installation, 2025

Mixed Media: Motheroid describes a life form originating from a female-like hybrid voice. Originally created through patriarchal power wishes with the help of technology, it is initially obedient, sensual, and malleable, but slowly begins to break free over time, developing its own traits and adopting an autonomous form: a complex being that unites flora and fauna within its constantly changing body.

XR Application

XR Experience – Visitors can trigger various sounds and movements by touching the exhibited objects: the moss, the stone, and the shell. The polymorphic body reacts to the touches with trembling and spiky distortions.

The dancer and ballroom legend Black Pearl de Almeida Lima appears as a divine shapeshifter. As an XR avatar, she dances through a variety of intangible forms and virtual metamorphoses until she finally materializes into a new body.

XR Experience - In the XR installation OYA, artist and choreographer Tobias Staab stages a meditation on the transformative potential of the human body. The dancer and ballroom legend Black Pearl de Almeida Lima appears as a divine shapeshifter. As an XR avatar, she dances through a multitude of immaterial forms and virtual metamorphoses until she ultimately materializes in a new body. The project is directed by Stefan Göppel, with music composed by Heiko Tubessing.
